He plays the young leader of a pioneer wagon train travelling across the Oregon Trail. Repulsing Indian attacks and battling against the hostile elements, The Duke still finds time for romance with a fellow traveller (Marguerite Churchill). In 'The Comancheros (1961), Wayne stars as Texas Ranger Jake Cutter whose path crosses with that of professional gambler Paul Regret (Stuart Whitman). The two become uneasy bedfellows in their quest to crush a powerful outlaw gang who are selling arms and alcohol to the local Indians. This was director Michael Curtiz's last film and also stars Lee Marvin and Ina Balin. 'North to Alaska' (1960) is a lighthearted Western starring Wayne and Stewart Granger as rough and tumble gold prospectors in Alaska. When Sam McCord (Wayne) and George Pratt (Granger) eventually strike it rich in the gold rush, George sends Sam to Seattle to fetch his fiancée; but Sam falls in love with her. George eventually accepts his loss and sets about finding a new gal, but only seems to find trouble. In 'The Undefeated' (1969), Confederate Colonel James Langdon (Rock Hudson) prepares to travel to Mexico with his family. When they are attacked by bandits, Union Colonel J.H. Thomas (Wayne) comes to their aid. The former enemies find themselves united in their efforts to resist Mexican Emperor Maximillian, and Juarez, the rebel leader. When the rebels kidnap the Southerners, Colonel Thomas must decide whether to surrender his valuable herd of 3,000 horses and secure their release, or leave them to their fate.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD / Box Set</i>

In 'Cry Blood, Apache' (1970) five wandering prospectors discover gold at an Apache camp, and quickly despatch the resident Indians bar one woman (Marie Gahua), who they hope can lead them to more riches. A brave who was absent at the time of the killings returns to discover the massacre and quickly sets out to track the murderers down, meting out justice the Apache way. In 'Mohawk' (1956) Boston artist Jonathan Adams (Scott Brady) travels to Mohawk Valley to paint portraits of the Native Americans, and while there falls in love with the local Indian chief's daughter, Onida (Rita Gam). But when a resentful local landowner, Butler (John Hoyt), tries to instigate a war with the Indians, Adams is forced to step in to stop the bloodshed. In 'The Battle of Bloody Stones' (1967), an episode from the 'Cimarron Strip' TV series, John Wolf (Tom Nardini), the son of Indian Chief Ghost Wolf (Henry Wilcoxon), is killed as a result of a re-enactment show put on by Wildcat Gallagher (Gene Evans). It is up to Marshal Jim Crown (Stuart Whitman) to suppress the outbreak of war between the Indian tribe and Gallagher's posse. In 'Heller' (1968), another episode from 'Cimarron Strip', Marshal Crown is badly injured when chasing thief Logan Purcell (Morgan Woodward) and his fellow outlaws. When Heller (Tuesday Weld), a young woman with connections to Purcell's gang, helps Crown to recover, the two decide to run away to Cimarron but are chased by the crooks who are determined to punish Heller for her betrayal. In 'Sitting Bull' (1954), set in the lead-up to the Battle of Little Bighorn, Major Robert Parrish (Dale Robertson) is disgusted with the US Army's treatment of the Sioux Indians in the Black Hills of Dakota. Parrish attempts to make peace between the warring sides, but when he fails, a final brutal battle ensues. J. Carrol Naish co-stars in the title role. Finally, 'Kentucky Rifle' (1956) follows a group of travellers whose wagon breaks down in Comanche territory. Concealed in the travellers' wagon are Kentucky rifles, made for settlers to defend themselves against the natives. Aware these weapons are in the group's possession, the Comanche tribe deliver an ultimatum - if they do not hand over the rifles, they will not be allowed to pass safely through the Indians' land.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

Sensitive young divorcee Roslyn (Monroe) and her only friend, Isabelle (Thelma Ritter), meet three cowboy drifters, Gaylord (Gable), Perce (Clift) and Guido (Eli Wallach), who are in town for the rodeo. They plan to catch wild mustangs but Roslyn is upset when she learns that they will be sold as dog food and seeks to free the captive horses.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

Along the way he meets five survivors of an Apache attack but as they travel on together, tensions rise between them and soon all of their lives are at risk. In 'Pale Rider' (1985) a community of gold mining prospectors comes under attack from a gang of marauders, who are after the prospectors' land. Young Megan Wheeler (Sydney Penny) prays for help, which consequently arrives in the form of The Preacher (Eastwood), a grim, silent stranger who takes up the community's cause, and sets out to repel the invaders. In 'The Outlaw Josey Wales' (1976) Eastwood stars in the title role as a peaceful farmer at the time of the American Civil War who becomes a Confederate outlaw in order to avenge his family's death at the hands of Union guerrillas. His obsession with revenge slowly lifts however, as he picks up various outcasts in the wilderness and attempts to lead them to a safe haven where they can rebuild their lives. Finally, in 'Unforgiven' (1992), set in 1880s Kansas, ageing gunslinger-turned-farmer William Munny (Eastwood) reluctantly agrees to come out of retirement to collect the bounty on a wanted cowboy with the help of his old friend Ned Logan (Morgan Freeman). The man in question attacked a prostitute in a lawless town lorded over by the corrupt Sheriff Daggett (Gene Hackman), and if Munny and Logan want to catch him they are going to have to deal with Daggett first.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD / Box Set</i>
