Det är aldrig försent. Rosa (Ariane Ascaride) bor i Marseilles arbetarområden. Hon är hjärtat och själen i hemmet och kvarteret. Sin enorma energi delar hon mellan storfamiljen, arbetet som sjuksköterska och sitt politiska engagemang. I takt med att pensionen närmar sig börjar dock hennes ideal att vackla. Exiled Armenian poet Missak Manouchian (Simon Abkarian) is living in occupied Paris with his wife Melinee (Virginie Ledoyen). Though a pacifist at heart, Manouchian joins the underground resistance in desperation, along with a group of young hothead emigres from around the world.
