Before his death in January, legendary guitarist Jeff Beck revisited concert recordings made by Beck, Bogert & Appice, the power trio he formed in 1972 with drummer/singer Carmine Appice and bassist/singer Tim Bogert. The live music captures the band at the beginning and end of its short-but-influential partnership, with two shows in Japan in 1973 and one of the group's final performances in London a year later.<br/><br/>All three band members were involved in creating LIVE IN JAPAN 1973, LIVE IN LONDON 1974, and the collection is dedicated to Beck and Bogert, who died in 2023 and 2021, respectively. The set includes an expansive booklet with extended liner notes detailing the group's history by music journalist/manager Bruce Pilato, along with memorabilia, archival photos, and a replica poster.<br/><br/>Beck and Appice mixed all the concerts in this set from the original multi-tracks that had been in Beck's archive for almost 50 years, thus knocking the many bootleg quality releases, that Beck hated, out of the park! The two performances at Koseinenkin Hall in Osaka, Japan (recorded May 18 and 19, 1973) were released exclusively in Japan a few months after the shows, but never in the U.S. The complete concert at the Rainbow Theatre in London, England (recorded January 26, 1974) has never been released anywhere. <br/><br/>In the booklet, Pilato explores the short existence and lasting legacy of Beck, Bogert & Appice, a supergroup that critics once hailed as "the first successor to Cream" (Melody Maker) and an "ensemble of virtually unparalleled magnificence" (NME). <br/><br/>LIVE IN JAPAN 1973 was recorded only a few weeks after Beck, Bogert & Appice's self-titled debut came out. The music ripples with raw energy as the group delivers exhilarating live versions of nearly every song on the album, including "Superstition," "Lady," and "Livin' Alone." The trio also played songs by the Yardbirds ("Jeff's Boogie") and the Jeff Beck Group ("Morning Dew" and "Going Down.")

Koichi Shikishima (Kamiki) is a former kamikaze pilot who survived the war by aborting his suicide mission. When he is confronted with the might of Godzilla for the first time, he freezes, which compounds his feelings of guilt and cowardice. As Japan struggles to recover from the devastation of the war, Koichi finds some measure of peace with Noriko (Minami Hamabe), who has rescued an orphaned baby girl. Wanting to provide for them, Koichi accepts a dangerous job clearing mines from the waters outside Tokyo, until Godzilla returns. Now even more formidable and able to immediately regenerate from injury after having been bathed in radiation from the nuclear test in 1946, Godzilla proceeds to lay waste to Tokyo. All 18 episodes from all three series of the BBC drama starring Sarah Lancashire as a police sergeant in a rural West Yorkshire valley. In the first series, Catherine Cawood (Lancashire) receives a visit from Kevin Weatherill (Steve Pemberton), a distressed member of the Yorkshire community she oversees, and is drawn into a ransom case in which the life of Ann Gallagher (Charlie Murphy) is at stake. Kevin employed local thug Ashley Cowgill (Joe Armstrong) to kidnap Ann in the hope of extracting a ransom from his boss, and his remorse has come too late to prevent the crime.<br/><br/>Can Catherine get to the girl in time? In the second series, while investigating a case of sheep-stealing, Catherine discovers the decomposed body of a murdered prostitute who she later discovers is the mother of Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton). This revelation places Catherine at the centre of the investigation as a possible suspect while Royce continues to torment her from inside his cell with the help of his new accomplice Frances (Shirley Henderson). While she takes on a new case of human trafficking, Catherine deals with more complications in her personal relationships and is recommended by her bosses to undertake a course of counselling therapy.<br/><br/>In the third series, Catherine is on the verge of retirement when the discovery of a murder victim leads her back to a still incarcerated Tommy Lee Royce. When she learns that her grandson Ryan (Rhys Connah) has been visiting him in prison, she is furious, especially when she realises her sister Clare (Siobhan Finneran) has been helping him. Meanwhile, pharmacist Faisal Bhatti (Amit Shah) is supplying prescription drugs illegally and trouble is closing in.
