Albumet "Järnbärarland" spelades in under kallaste januari på hemmaplan i Dalarna, med Stiko och hans bands ständige fioltrakterare Bagarn i producentrollen.<br/><br/>Under en knapp månad bodde duon isolerade uppe i byn Boda norr om Rättvik, i ett timmerhus där Bagarns farsa Gunnar till vardags har sin fiolbyggarverkstad.<br/><br/>"Järnbärarland" är gammal benämning på Dalarna och de angränsade områden som först dök först upp i skrifter från den norska Kung Sverres besök i Sverige år 1177. I titelspåret berättar Stiko om hur folk från trakten tvingades lämna sina gamla hem och söka lyckan västerut, på andra sidan Atlanten. Vid tiden kring förra sekelskiftet tvingade fattigdom över 40.000 Svenskar att emigrera bara från Dalarna, och självklart innefattade det även flera ur släkten Stiko. Kontrasten är slående till det Sverige 2013 som blir föremål för Stikos första uttalat politiska budskap i "Zomiben förds". Singeln släpptes tidigt i Januari erövrade en topp fem placering på Svenska Itunes Singel-listan.<br/><br/>"Veteraner" är en verklig "bandlåt" som funnits på repertoaren sedan 2011 och hunnit bli en riktig konsertfavorit hos Stikofansen.<br/><br/>"En kosmonauts testamente" är berättelsen om en rymdresenärs sista tid och har med sin eposliknande form tydliga metaforer och beskrivningar kring livets slutskede.<br/>"Gilla falla" skrevs under inspelningsprocessen och är också den enda låten där Stiko förutom att själv traktera de flesta instrumenten också mixat på egen hand.
