I en tid när det experimenteras in absurdum med olika sound och blandningar av stilar kan det vara skönt med en fast punkt i tillvaron. 2010 heter den punkten Airbourne. Det australiensiska kraftpaketet förvaltar arvet från Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Rose Tattoo, AC/DC och Motörhead på absolut bästa sätt men har faktiskt lyckats vrida upp volymen några snäpp till. Airbourne låter som en blandning av allt som är bra med stenhård medryckande rock och som hela bandet har överdoserat på Red Bull. <br/><br/>Här är uppföljaren till debuten "Runnin' Wild" som slog ned som en blixt från klar himmel. Rock'n Roll behöver inte vara krångligt. Eller som frontmannen Joel O'Keeffe uttrycker det; "It's just rock and roll. We want people to have a good time, no matter what. Have a drink, play it really loud, and kick back."

Chino Moreno säger så här om albumet "Diamond Eyes" till Ultimate Guitar:<br/><br/>"The dynamics Deftones are known for - aggressive overtones and lush openness. They're on opposite sides of the spectrum, but we meld them together without sounding contrived. There are a few heavy songs, too, like our first couple records, and there are also experimental tunes - but there's not a minute on this record that feels like it doesn't need to be there. Each sound complements the other. I'll straight-up say it: it's definitely one of our best albums." <br/><br/>Regarding the lyrical direction of the new album, Moreno said: <br/><br/>"Well, I've been wanting to record a fantasy album like 'White Pony', where the lyrics are less, 'This is my life and this is what we're going through.' It helps take us away from reality. I don't like listening to people's problems - I like music. Music has been smothered with that complaining since the early-'90s. It gets old. Instead of going to the opposite side of the spectrum and listening to Black Eyed Peas, which is just straight silly, I choose to listen to more instrumental music. <br/><br/>"I do very little singing about myself on this record. I love songs where I can totally take myself out of being human. I can sing about really odd things, and they don't necessarily have to pertain to me at all. It paints a picture. Those are the kind of lyrics I grew up with - like The Cure. Really visual images and no storytelling."

Myles Heather & the Cadillac Cowboys: Live at... [2 CD]

1970 hade Miles Davis tagit det definitiva steget in i det som brukar kallas hans "elektriska" period. Soundet förändrades i och med att piano och kontrabas byttes ut mot gitarr, elbas och keyboard. Dubbelalbumet"Live-Evil" innehåller studioinspelningar från våren 1970 med sådana musiker som Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Ron Carter och Jack DeJohnette, samt ett par 25 minuter långa spår från en omtalad spelning från The Cellar Door Club i Washington i december samma år. I det bandet återfinns till exempel Keith Jarrett, Gary Bartz och John McLaughlin i ett av hans få framträdanden med bandet och musiken som spelas är varierad; på sina ställen intensiv och funkig, men också sökande och experimentell. Den komplexa musiken på "Live-Evil" avslöjar nya dimensioner vid varje genomlyssning och är ett värdefullt och talande tidsdokument ur Miles Davis omfångsrika katalog.
