Fyra unga män - Lukas, Simon, Anders och John - är ute på gängets årliga forspaddling. Under färden nedför älven möter de systrarna Marie och Susanne, som nyligen flyttat upp till Norrland från Stockholm. De beslutar sig för att slå läger och festa tillsammans på kvällen.<br/><br/>När de vaknar upp på morgonen efter en vild natt med dans och alkohol är Susanne, den yngsta flickan, spårlöst försvunnen. Killarna återvänder till sin vardag på ett stugbygge medan Marie, som arbetar på ortens sjukhus, blir allt oroligare över vad som hänt hennes syster. Har hon gett sig av tillbaka till Stockholm eller har hon drunknat i älven?
