Leslie Nielsen reprises his role as Lieutenant Frank Drebin in this first instalment of the comedy franchise based on the television series 'Police Squad'. As he investigates business tycoon Vincent Ludwig (Ricardo Montalban), Drebin finds himself falling for Ludwig's secretary, Jane Spencer (Priscilla Presley).
