Peter McEnery and Glenda Jackson star in this drama directed by Peter Medak. Embittered lovers Theo and Vivien (McEnery and Jackson) indulge in role-play together where they pretend to be the killer Dr. Crippen and his female victims. When they meet Reingard (Diane Cilento), a German photographer, she introduces a new fantasy to Theo involving WWI pilot Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron.
