Inheriting the winery, Jiu'er, with her lover, take control, establishing a thriving business, even more successful than before. But when the Japanese military arrive during WWII, they rip up the wine fields in order to make a road. Her problems don't stop there however, as her son's school receives several letters from parents outraged about the son of a prostitute attending the same school as their children and demanding he be expelled. 'The Founding of a Republic' (2009) is an historical epic that explores the climax of the Chinese Civil War in the 1950s. The film opens with the leaders of the two main factions in the war, Mao Zedong (Tang Guoqiang) of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Chiang Kai-shek (Zhang Guoli) of the nationalist party Kuomintang (KMT), agreeing to call a truce, but will it last? In 'The Emperor and the White Snake' (2011) young physician Xu Xian (Raymond Lam) falls in love with a beautiful woman when she saves him from drowning. However, unbeknownst to him she is in fact Madame White Snake (Shengyi Huang), a thousand-year-old snake demon appearing in the guise of a woman to try and avoid Fa Hai (Li), a sorcerer who intends to destroy her.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>
