In 'Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto' (1954), orphan Musashi Miyamoto (Toshirô Mifune) leaves his home village to join the army with his best friend Honiden Matahachi (Rentarô Mikuni) who is betrothed to local girl Otsu (Kaoru Yachigusa). While they are away, Matahachi is seduced by another woman, and when Miyamoto returns to the village alone to break the news, Matahachi's family accuse him of telling lies and sentence him to death. He is rescued by a Buddhist monk and educated in the ways of the Samurai, but as he becomes proficient in his art, Miyamoto is forced to choose between the way of the warrior and the possibility of happiness with Otsu, who has now fallen in love with him... In 'Samurai II: Duel at Ichijoji Temple' (1955), after years on the road perfecting his sword fighting skills, Miyamoto returns to his home village to find his former love Otsu still waiting for him patiently. However, the Samurai warrior is disinterested in love and only interested in defending his reputation by taking on students from the local fencing school. In 'Samurai III: Duel at Ganru Island' (1956), Miyamoto renounces his quest for fame in favour of the search for inner truth, but after settling down in a quiet peasant village, he is forced to take up arms when his sanctuary is attacked by marauding bandits.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / Restored</i>

'Dead Or Alive' (1999) follows brothers Ryuichi (Riki Takeuchi) and Toji (Michisuke Kashiwaya) as they look to make a name for themselves in the Tokyo criminal underworld. Their nemesis is Detective Jojima (Shô Aikawa), a cop who has become involved in various crooked deals in order to pay for his ailing daughter's life-saving operation. As Ryuichi tries to take a slice of a large Taiwanese drug haul, Jojima draws in closer, and the pair get set for a deadly confrontation. In 'Dead Or Alive 2: Birds' (2000), hired killer Otamoko (Aikawa) accepts the contract to assassinate a vicious gangster, only to be beaten to it by another hitman. Deciding to take the money anyway, Otamoko finds himself on the run with members of both the Triads and Yakuza in hot pursuit. After eventually reaching the island of his birth, he teams up with an old friend in an attempt to fight back against the powerful crime syndicates which are looking for him. Finally, in 'Dead Or Alive: Final' (2002), rugged cop Takeshi Honda (Takeuchi) and mellow drifter Ryô (Aikawa) join forces with a band of rebels to take on a deranged mayor in the post-apocalyptic city of Yokohama.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>

Hitman Shohei Narumi (Matsuda)'s world is one of conspiracies, betrayal and corruption from which there is no escape. In 'The Most Dangerous Game' (1978) he is hired by Kohinata (Asao Uchida) to rescue his son-in-law who has been kidnapped by the Godai Conglomerate, but that isn't all Kohinata wants from Narumi... 'The Killing Game' (1979) finds Narumi forced out of retirement and caught up in a gang war between two rival yakuza clans, while chance meetings with two women from his past pull him deeper back into his old life. Finally, in 'The Execution Game' (1979) Narumi is betrayed, abducted and tortured and then hired by his aggressors to take out another veteran assassin.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>

Samurai Kosaka Shinzaemon (Yamaguchi) is preparing for a fight when he is struck by lightning and transported through time to 21st century Japan. Arriving on a film set where a samurai television show is being shot, he begins working as a stuntman as he attempts to find his place in this strange new world. Koji Yakusho stars as respected samurai warrior Shinzaemon Shimada, who gathers together 13 skilled assassins to bring down the evil Lord Naritsugu (Goro Inagaki), a merciless killer who gets his kicks from brutally murdering women and children. The film ends with a 45-minute battle sequence in which the 13 assassins take on an army of 200 men, dispensing with them in a profusion of inventive and surprising ways.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>
