Keen to understand the strange things that are happening to him, he journeys deep into a strange parallel world where humans perform DIY body alterations and women are fitted-out with replacement robotic arms. 'Tetsuo 2 - Bodyhammer' (1992) follows an unassuming office worker who suffers an extreme reaction when his son is kidnapped by members of a skinhead cult. In the near future, the government has implemented a system in which certain people between the ages of 18 and 24 are eligible to be served with a 'death notice' informing them that they have just 24 hours to live - a policy thought to promote productivity and prosperity for society as a whole. Kengo Fujimoto (Shota Matsuda) is one of those recruited to hand out these death notices, or 'ikigami'. When a species of alien invades Earth and takes over humans' bodies by crawling into their ears and inhabiting their brains, headphone-adorned teenager Shinichi Izumi (Shôta Sometani) escapes the same fate, but doesn't get away completely unharmed. Unable to access his victim's ear, the alien decides instead to set up camp in Shinichi's hand.
