The album was recorded across 2004 & 2005 with frontman Bruce Soord serving as producer. In 2023, it received a full remix & remaster treatment by Bruce Soord (mixing) & Steve Kitch (remastering). A blend of progressive rock with elements of Brit-pop, the album is often likened to the moody atmospherics of Radiohead or Muse. The album actually supersedes an earlier, limited "preview" release titled &lsquo;12 Stories Down&rsquo; (2004), comprising rawer mixes & a few exclusive tracks. &lsquo;10 Stories Down&rsquo; represents the definitive, polished version. &lsquo;10 Stories Down&rsquo; stands as a defining early work for The Pineapple Thief.
