Eric Slick is probably best known as the drummer for Pennsylvania rock band, Dr. Dog (since 2010) His upcoming solo debut however, sees the musician stepping out from behind the kit. The record was penned over the course of 2014, when Slick decided to leave his native Philadelphia for the first time and move to Asheville, North Carolina. He practiced meditation and Jungian dream therapy as a form of reinvention - and to write his own songs, which all sprung from these intense periods of meditation. Slick specifically found inspiration in the works of writer/actor Spalding Gray, especially his 1992 book Impossible Vacation, which details, well, the impossibility of searching for Zen. "I know it's the funny trope: indie rock dude goes to the woods and makes an outsider record," Slick says. "But it was a time of deep introspection and a fruitful period of my life. I wrote somewhere around 50 songs in 2014."

Clair Morgan is a seven-piece rock outfit from Richmond, Virginia. With influences ranging from the likes of Cursive, Teenage Fanclub, Shipping News, Hum, Cap'n Jazz and several others, it comes as no surprise that this enormous collective bring their own unique spin to mathematically dynamic indie rock. No sureface is left untouched as the group expands on thei songwriting of frontman Clair Morgan with a variety of auxiliary insturmentation, smooth harmonies, comples interlaced guitars and syncopated rhythms. All of this combined leads to a unique live experience that can only best be described as a tiny orchestra playing catchy rock tunes.

Their new record No Floor (release date Sept 30th) was self produced in 2015 with additional overdubs made at Richmond's own Spacebomb Studios and was mixed at Uniform Record in Philadelphia, PA by Jeff Zeigler in early 2016. The record finds the band foregoing their traditional guitar/bass/drums setup to explore more electronic and sample-based composition and introduces three-part harmonies featuring the band's newest member on record, Tori Hovater. Live, the band has expanded into a tight five-piece unit who have spun the new material into an expansive cocoon of sound.
