LACUNA COIL's new live album, Live from the Apocalypse, is the fruit of an unprecedented time. Unlike previous live efforts-Visual Karma (Body, Mind and Soul) (2008), Shallow Live: Acoustic at Criminal Records (2010), and The 119 Show - Live in London (2018)-the Italians, under the yoke of the pandemic, cleverly devised a way for their devoted fanbase to hear and see them on stage by organizing a special live stream event performing their latest album, Black Anima, in September 2020. By all accounts, this was no ordinary gig. Even though LACUNA COIL were in their hometown of Milan-at the famed Alcatraz Club-there were no fans to greet them. No roar of anticipation; No claps of adulation; No interaction with the people who had become deeply involved in and had a profound love for LACUNA COIL's music and live shows over two-plus decades. The live stream energy was different. It had to be. With hearts on their sleeves, cameras rolling, and the world tuning in online, LACUNA COIL brought "Black Anima: Live from the Apocalypse" to life. Not by a long shot. <br/><br/>With vocalist Alissa White-Gluz replacing long-time frontwoman Angela Gossow in 2014, War Eternal is Arch Enemy reborn. "Changes in the band lineup are hardly ever looked upon favorably by the fans," Amott acknowledges, "which I completely understand. Nonetheless, it does happen and the changes that have been made in the Arch Enemy camp were necessary in order for the band to survive and keep going. I love the energy of working with new people and Alissa has certainly brought a lot of talent and enthusiasm to the band!"<br/><br/>When Amott recruited Angela Gossow to front Arch Enemy for the Wages of Sin effort, he changed extreme metal forever. With White-Gluz, he has a new weapon. She's a vertiable firebrand on War Eternal, her unrelenting roar, cruel rasp, and unique looks the mark of a woman ready to conquer the world. "My goal is to keep Arch Enemy alive and thriving!" White-Gluz exclaims. <br/><br/>ARCH ENEMY presents a live DVD, As The Stages Burn!, of their largest stage production to date from their performance last summer at the WACKEN OPEN AIR Festival in Germany. This performance marks the pinnacle of a highly successful album campaign in support of War Eternal. It all began in March of 2014 when the band announced new vocalist Alissa White-Gluz as well as the video for the album title track, "War Eternal". This debut track went on to become the bands most successful video in their career, surpassing 20 million views on YouTube. The release of the War Eternal album also saw ARCH ENEMY reaching their highest US and German chart positions to date while going on to play over 200 shows in over 40 countries around the world. In late 2014, Jeff Loomis (ex-Nevermore) joined ARCH ENEMY during the world tour with Kreator and in 2015 they played arenas as direct support for Nightwish.
