In 'Resident Evil' (2002) a virus has been sealed in an underground research centre known as the Hive, and Alice (Milla Jovovich) and Rain (Michelle Rodriguez) are sent in with a team of commandos to destroy it. However, they have failed to anticipate that all the employees who were trapped in the Hive with the virus, and thought to be dead, have been turned into the living dead and one scratch from them can cause the recipient to become like them... In 'Resident Evil: Apocalypse' (2004) Alice finds herself stuck in the contaminated Raccoon City after the re-opening of the deadly Hive. The infamous Umbrella Corporation has banned anyone from leaving in case of possible infection with the outside world. Along with other survivors Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) and Carlos Oliviera (Oded Fehr), Alice must fight for her survival, and do all she can to escape the nightmare necropolis. Together, the small band of survivors seeks out eminent scientist Dr Charles Ashford (Jared Harris), the only man with the knowledge to help them out of their awful entrapment - but they soon discover that Ashford's co-operation comes at a heavy price. In the third film, 'Resident Evil: Extinction' (2007), Alice is alone, years after the Raccoon City disaster, and aware that she has become a liability and likely to endanger those around her. She is struggling to survive and bring down the Umbrella Corporation led by the sinister Albert Wesker (Jason O'Mara) and head researcher Dr. Isaacs (Iain Glen). Meanwhile, travelling through the Nevada Desert and the ruins of Las Vegas, Carlos Oliviera, L.J. (Mike Epps), and new survivors K-Mart (Spencer Locke), Claire Redfield (Ali Larter), and Betty (Ashanti) are fighting to survive against hordes of zombies, killer crows and other terrible creatures spawned by the deadly T-virus that has killed millions. In 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' (2010) Alice continues her fight against the Umbrella Corporation. Following new information, she heads to Los Angeles where she seeks out any survivors of the T-virus epidemic. The group of survivors, including Jill Valentine and Claire Redfield, attempt to strengthen their numbers and find refuge, but can they escape the zombie-infested city before it's too late? In 'Resident Evil: Retribution' (2012) Alice finds herself at the very heart of Umbrella's operation facility, having been captured by the organisation. Aware that Umbrella hold the secret to her past, Alice sets out to explore the facility in search of the truth and those responsible for the initial virus outbreak. Along the way she teams up with other survivors of the disaster as the battle against Umbrella and the zombies rages on. Finally, in 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' (2016), humanity is on the brink of extinction as Alice returns to Raccoon City to try to stop Umbrella from launching one final attack on the remaining survivors. Fugitive Flint Marko (Thomas Haden Church), killer of Peter's Uncle Ben, has been transformed into the shape-shifting Sandman, possibly Spider-Man's toughest foe so far. To complicate matters further, a parasitic alien symbiote has attached itself to Peter's suit, giving him even greater powers but also bringing out the evil side of his personality. In 'The Punisher' (2004) Frank Castle (Tom Jane) is a retired FBI agent spurred into action after the merciless revenge killing of his wife, father, and son. Despite having no special powers, Castle adopts the superhero guise of The Punisher, and sets out to wreak vengeance for his dead family by tracking down the culprits responsible for their demise. All clues point to Howard Saint (John Travolta), a ruthless businessman and nightclub owner whose young son was mistakenly killed by Castle in a botched undercover operation back in his FBI days. In 'The Punisher: War Zone' (2008) the infamous vigilante Frank Castle (Ray Stevenson) returns seeking revenge for the murder of his wife and children, and when he discovers that a New York crime syndicate was responsible, he brutally assaults every member of the group. As well as severely disfiguring gangster Billy Russoti (Dominic West), Castle also unwittingly murders an undercover FBI agent. As a result, Castle soon finds himself pursued by the NYPD's special Punisher Task Force unit, which is joined by the dead federal agent's former partner, Paul Budiansky (Colin Salmon).
