Corpo writes a new chapter in their career by releasing a new album. Their musical genre is jazz and improvisation combined with what gives significance to the Nordic sound, and Swedish folklore its tonality, supported by grooves with African and Asian elements. All of their music is based on original compositions by Mikael Godée.<br/><br/>Corpo uses the musical compositions as a base, and creates their music intuitively, which distinguishes the arrangements, the dynamics and the improvisations from one performance to another. The group would have to release one album from every concert to be able to satisfy all of their listeners. That's why Corpo now chooses to release their sixth album,<br/>recorded "live in studio" (Lindgrensalen), Artisten, Gothenburg, Sweden, to capture the unique concert feeling and to let the listeners experience the fantastic ensemble playing by the musicians and sense their total presence.

Digipack.<br/><br/>Att kombinera klassik musik och jazz är ett vågstycke som inte alltid lyckas. Anledningen är att musikformerna har skilda strukturer. Strikt noterad musik möter improviserad musik vilket kräver mycket av parterna. En av stilarterna kan lätt hamna i ett underläge som stryper spontaniteten i spelet så att musiken enkelt uttryckt får gå på konstgjord andning. Tack och lov finns det berikande undantag! Klarinettisten Staffan Mårtensson (till vardags i Hovkapellet Stockholm), pianisten Lennart Simonsson och basisten Jan Adefelt har inte gått in i fällan. Tvärtom, de har fogat samman komponenterna seriöst utan ta till nötta klichéer. Här skapar musikernas närmanden till materialet intima vibbar. Ingen av stilriktningarna naggas i kanten och kommer på mellanhand. Albumet innehåller bl.a jazzteman som There'll Never Be Another You, 'Round Midnight, Charlie Mingus bluesiga Nostalgia In Times Square och Quincy Jones Stockholm Sweetnin'. Folkmusikton finner man i Emigrantvisa och Visa från Rättvik. Från den klassiska melodiboken plockas Faurés Sicilienne opus 78. Bach och Lewis samsas ödmjukt i Intervention 1 Bach/Django och i Intervention 2 Eccles/Things, som har märkbara spår av Jerome Kerns All The Things You Are.
