New Vienna är den fjärde konsertinspelningen som släpps från Keith Jarretts sista soloturné i Europa. Den följer efter Munich 2016, Budapest Concert och Bordeaux Concert. New Vienna släpps i samband med att Keith Jarrett fyller 80 år.<br/><br/>New Vienna is the fourth concert recording to be released from Keith Jarrett's final European solo tour. It follows Munich 2016, Budapest Concert and Bordeaux Concert. Why New Vienna? As Jarrett aficionados will know, his discography already includes a legendary Vienna Concert (recorded at the Vienna State Opera) whose music, he once claimed, spoke "the language of the flame itself", after long years of "courting the fire". Keith Jarrett's 2016 return to the Austrian capital brought the flames of inspiration to another historic location with lively acoustic properties, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein, where, at the start of the previous century, Schoenberg, Berg and Webern had premiered works that challenged and changed the course of modern music. New Vienna, shaping its new music in the moment, is near-encyclopedic in scope. The album is issued as Keith Jarrett turns 80.

"e.s.t. Live in London" markerar tioårsdagen av Esbjörn Svenssons tragiska och allt för tidiga bortgång, 14 juni 2008. Det är det första albumet som ACT släpper med e.s.t. sedan dödsfallet. Under de tio år som gått har det blivit allt tydligare vilket otroligt viktigt avtryck trion med Esbjön Digipack.<br/><br/>Svensson, Dan Berglund och Magnus Öström på den internationella jazzscenen.<br/>Inspelningen är gjord inför ett fullsatt Barbican Centre, då trion stod på toppen av sin karriär, både kommersiellt och musikaliskt. Året efter följde en världsturné med över 100 konserter i 24 länder, inför totalt drygt 200 000 människor i publiken. The great British jazz singer Norma Winstone once again casts her net wide for source material for this third ECM album with Italian pianist Glauco Venier and German clarinetist / saxophonist Klaus Gesing. Alongside new pieces by Winstone/Gesing and by Venier, the trio covers tunes by singer-songwriters Nick Drake, Fred Neil and Tom Waits. They take a fresh approach to Madonna's "Live To Tell", and to Dave Grusin's "It Might Be You", as well as Ralph Towner's "A Breath Away" (now with lyrics by Norma) and "Bein' Green", a children's song elevated to jazz standard status by Sinatra, Stan Kenton, Ray Charles and many more. "As Winstone moves ever farther from the Great American Songbook," All About Jazz observed, "it's certain that, with band mates as sympathetic as Gesing and Venier, there's precious little she can't do."
