Los Angeles, 30 december 1999. Det är 48 timmar kvar till år 2000. Världen står på randen till ett nytt sekel. Lenny Nero är en fd polis som numera försörjer sig på att sälja illegala "clips", digitala inspelningar av verkliga händelser av vad andra människor känt och upplevt.
