Her efforts create confusion, and the outspoken Mr Knightly pours scorn on her matchmaking - although he may have ulterior motives for doing so. Set on the island of Crete during the Nazi occupation, the film stars Dirk Bogarde and David Oxley as British officers assigned to kidnap the German commander-in-chief General Kreipe (Marius Goring) and spirit him back to Cairo. If successful, the morale of the Germans would be weakened and the resistance would be stronger. When Howie is selected to represent the UK at the World Santa Champions in Lithuania, despite the negative spirit he has embraced since his marriage collapsed, the two begin a dispute over who makes a better Santa Claus. However, after much effort, Howie convinces Colin to accompany him dressed as an elf. Filled with doubt in his abilities, Howie's performance in the games gets worse every round and it is up to Colin to help his friend to win the competition and get his life back on track.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

The production is overseen by Boris Lermontov (Anton Walbrook), a ballet impresario who rules his domain with a rod of iron, making the careers of those he champions but demanding absolute loyalty and dedication to the art of ballet in return. When Boris discovers that Victoria has fallen in love with Julian (Marius Goring), the ballet's composer, he becomes convinced that the affair will distract his leading lady and presents her with a choice - the ballet or Julian?
