The film was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards including Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Performance By an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture (Patel), and Best Original Score - Motion Picture (Dustin O'Halloran/Volker Bertelmann) and six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Patel) and Best Supporting Actress (Kidman).
