'Pather Panchali' (1955) tells the story of a family living in the grip of poverty in a small Bengali village, focusing on the experiences of young boy Apu (Subir Bandopadhyay). 'Aparajito' (1956) sees Apu (Smaran Ghosal) move with his family to the busy city of Benares where they hope to build a new life after suffering a devastating family tragedy. But when Apu's father dies, the young man decides to head out on his own and attend college in Calcutta, leading to a growing estrangement between him and his widowed mother. Finally, in 'The World of Apu' (1959), the adult Apu (Soumitra Chatterjee) hopes to become a writer, but his lack of finances forces him to abandon his university studies. He meets old friend Pulu (Swapan Mukherjee) and together they travel to the wedding of Pulu's cousin, Aparna (Sharmila Tagore). When the wedding is cancelled, Apu agrees to marry Aparna to save her from ridicule. In 'And Life Goes On' (1992) a director visits the aftermath of an earthquake in the hope of finding the children who acted in one of his films. Tummler (Nick Sutton) and Solomon (Jacob Reynolds) are friends who huff glue and hunt stray cats for the local grocer together. Bunny Boy (Jacob Sewell) wanders the town wearing pink bunny ears. Jarrod (Daniel Martin) cares for his catatonic grandmother but runs afoul of Tummler and Solomon when he starts poisoning cats. As they find increasingly destructive ways to pass the time, for some of them there will be no escape. In 'Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto' (1954), orphan Musashi Miyamoto (Toshirô Mifune) leaves his home village to join the army with his best friend Honiden Matahachi (Rentarô Mikuni) who is betrothed to local girl Otsu (Kaoru Yachigusa). While they are away, Matahachi is seduced by another woman, and when Miyamoto returns to the village alone to break the news, Matahachi's family accuse him of telling lies and sentence him to death. He is rescued by a Buddhist monk and educated in the ways of the Samurai, but as he becomes proficient in his art, Miyamoto is forced to choose between the way of the warrior and the possibility of happiness with Otsu, who has now fallen in love with him... In 'Samurai II: Duel at Ichijoji Temple' (1955), after years on the road perfecting his sword fighting skills, Miyamoto returns to his home village to find his former love Otsu still waiting for him patiently. However, the Samurai warrior is disinterested in love and only interested in defending his reputation by taking on students from the local fencing school. In 'Samurai III: Duel at Ganru Island' (1956), Miyamoto renounces his quest for fame in favour of the search for inner truth, but after settling down in a quiet peasant village, he is forced to take up arms when his sanctuary is attacked by marauding bandits.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / Restored</i>

Her sister Helen (Lara Flynn Boyle) is receiving obscene phone calls from her neighbour Allen (Philip Seymour Hoffman) but when she rejects him, he turns his attention to Kristina (Camryn Manheim), a woman harbouring a grisly secret of her own. Based on the real events recounted in Cameron Crowe's novel, the film follows a group of high school students in southern California who are looking for love and fun in their teenage years. 15-year-old Stacy Hamilton (Leigh) is desperate for boys to see her as a woman but when she lies about her age to date an older man, she is left feeling hurt and used when she learns he is only after one thing. When Mark (Brian Backer), a friend of Stacy's friend Mike (Robert Romanus), declares his love for sweet, innocent Stacy, Mike agrees to school him in the science of women.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>
