That means dressing up as animals and sitting in cages because their boss, American entrepreneur Bob Fossil (Rich Fulcher), can't afford any real animals. In series 1, the lads have to battle mutant animals engineered in a secret laboratory underneath the zoo, as well as fight a kangaroo to raise money for their dilapidated workplace. A perilous journey to find the fabled Egg of Mantumba leads to a fight with the dreaded Black Frost, and when Howard is accidentally taken off to Monkey Hell, Vince has to journey through time and space to rescue him from the Ape of Death. Prince Edmund (Rowan Atkinson) is the king's worthless slimy son who schemes to take the throne for himself, assisted by his idiotic sidekicks Percy (Tim McInnerny) and Baldrick (Tony Robinson). In the third series, 'Blackadder the Third' (1987), Edmund Blackadder is now butler to the moronic Prince George (Hugh Laurie), and in Regency London he finds himself crossing paths with figures such as Samuel Johnson (Robbie Coltrane), the elusive Scarlet Pimpernel (McInnerny), and the violent Duke of Wellington (Fry). The episodes are: 'Dish and Dishonesty', 'Ink and Incapability', 'Nob and Nobility', 'Sense and Senility', 'Amy and Amiability', and 'Duel and Duality'. In the fourth series, 'Blackadder Goes Forth' (1989), Edmund is now a captain in the British Army during the First World War, doing his best to avoid death at the hands of the Germans. The programme follows aristocrat Christopher Tietjens (Cumberbatch) as he marries the destructive Sylvia (Hall) despite being uncertain about whether the child she is pregnant with is his. He is determined to be faithful regardless of Sylvia's dalliances with other men but his resolve falters when he meets beautiful suffragette Valentine Wannop (Adelaide Clemens).
