Set in an unnamed location and time, the story follows Alex (Konstantin Lavronenko), Vera (Maria Bonnevie), their young son and daughter, and Alex's brother Mark (Aleksandr Baluev), as they relocate from the city to Alex and Mark's father's old house in the country. Once there, Vera tells Alex that she is pregnant, and he believes the baby cannot be his, causing Alex to face huge personal dilemmas, wondering whether to forgive her or exact revenge. Acting on advice from his malevolent brother, Alex demands that Vera terminate the pregnancy. But when complications suddenly arise, Alex's weakening grasp on reality threatens to place events beyond his control.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

Although she expresses her wish to die, even going so far as to make an attempt at taking her own life, George tries to remind her of the beauty and worth of life itself and the love that they share for each other. Music teacher Amadou (Ona Lu Yenke) witnesses this, and when he demands that Jean apologise to Maria, the two get caught in a scuffle which results in both Amadou's arrest and Maria's deportation. The only light in his life is the bar he frequents and the beautiful singer (Vali Kerekes) who performs there, with whom Karrer is hopelessly in love. In rural Scotland, a devout young religious woman, Bess (Watson), meets and falls in love with oil rig worker Jan (Skarsgård). Despite opposition from her community they marry, and when Jan returns to the rigs, Bess counts the days until his return. However, when Jan is later paralysed in an accident and unable to engage in intimacy with his wife, he urges her to take a lover and relate their sexual acts to him, which Bess believes will help him to recover.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>
