According to the tale, Nietzsche rushed to save a horse from being flogged in the street, before collapsing into the debilitating mental illness that remained with him for the rest of his life. The film imagines the days leading up to the incident, following the poverty-stricken horseman (János Derzsi) and his grown-up daughter (Erika Bók) as they go about their bleak daily existence in the biting winter winds, subsisting entirely on boiled potatoes and watching helplessly as their ailing horse gradually loses its battle to stay alive.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

To prepare for the role, Maria departs for Sils Maria, a remote region of the Alps, with her devoted assistant Valentine (Kristen Stewart). Aided by Valentine, Maria investigates the young and reckless American actress (Chloë Grace Moretz) who has been chosen to interpret the role of her character's assistant. The only light in his life is the bar he frequents and the beautiful singer (Vali Kerekes) who performs there, with whom Karrer is hopelessly in love. But their act is entirely fabricated with Evelyn in fact pulling the strings.
