Jeannie's brother Jimmie (Paul Bradley) and his friend Billy (Doug McGrath) return home from military duties for a short while, and during this time Billy rapes Jeannie. Jeannie's parents, Mary (Doris Petrie) and Jim (Donald Pleasence) are extremely proud and conservative and are scandalised when Jeannie falls pregnant. Confiding in her parents, her father denies that this is the fault of the perpetrator, Billy, and now sees Jeannie as defiled and unwholesome.
