'Spartacus' (1960) concerns the efforts of the slave-gladiator Spartacus (Kirk Douglas) to lead the slaves of the Roman Empire in a rebellion against their masters. The ranks quickly swell as the slave army makes its way across Italy towards the coast. However, the despotic Roman senator Crassus (Laurence Olivier) determines to quell the revolt for his own selfish ends, and the stage is thus set for a tremendous battle. In '2001 - A Space Odyssey' (1968), at the dawn of mankind, a tribe of ape-like beings are visited on Earth by a large black monolith. Thousands of years later, in the year 2001, scientist Dr Heywood Floyd (William Sylvester) discovers a similar black monolith on the moon, which then emits a signal aimed at the planet Jupiter. A year later, astronauts Dr David Bowman (Keir Dullea) and Dr Frank Poole (Gary Lockwood) are en route to Jupiter to investigate the signal's destination and purpose. However, their mission comes under threat when their ship's sentient computer, HAL (voice of Douglas Rain), seemingly develops a malfunction. 'A Clockwork Orange' (1971) follows sadistic punk Alex (Malcolm McDowell) as he takes his gang on a rape and murder spree, showing absolutely no mercy to any of his victims. When he is eventually captured, the authorities subject him to a series of experiments designed to rid him of his violent tendencies. In 'The Shining' (1980), seeking solitude in order to write a novel, Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) takes a job as an off-season caretaker at the remote Overlook Hotel in Colorado. Eager to get started, Jack disregards warnings that the isolation drove a former caretaker mad, and moves into the massive resort with his wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and son Danny (Danny Lloyd). But Danny has a supernatural gift which makes him aware of an evil lurking in the hotel, and sure enough, as winter storms cut the hotel off from civilisation, Jack gradually becomes murderously insane. Finally, 'Full Metal Jacket' (1987) details the dehumanising effect of military combat, as experienced by a bunch of Vietnam conscripts under the training of the sadistic Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (R. Lee Ermey) and follows one of the recruits, Joker (Matthew Modine), onto the battlefield as he is thrown into the war at the height of the Tet Offensive.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray (Boxset)</i>

Stampande, knuffande, stjälande, sjungande, dansande, våldsam. Huliganen Alex (Malcolm McDowell) har sin egen definition på att ha det roligt. Han har det på tragisk bekostnad av andra. Alex resa från en omoralisk slyngel till en hjärntvättad, ordentlig medborgare är ett stycke filmkonst där Stanley Kubrick gör Anthony Burgess roman rättvisa. Oförglömliga scener, överraskande musikmöten och det där speciella språket som bara Alex och hans polare kan prata. Filmen var våldsamt kontroversiell när den släpptes, men blev nominerad till fyra Oscar, bland annat för bästa film.

Redmond Barry (Ryan O'Neal) is an Irish country boy who falls in love with well-to-do local girl Nora Brady (Gay Hamilton) and is subsequently tricked by her family into leaving town. Disillusioned with love, the broken-hearted young man then embarks on an adventure which sees him serve in the Seven Years War, earn a living as a professional gambler and eventually move into the higher ranks of society when he meets and marries the beautiful Lady Lyndon (Marisa Berenson). In 'The Killing' (1956), Johnny Clay (Sterling Hayden) gets out of prison after a five-year stint and begins to put together plans for a million dollar race track heist. As he gathers his crew together, it seems that Johnny's plan is fool-proof and is sure to go off without a hitch. However, when gang member George Peatty (Elisha Cook Jr) tells his wife (Marie Windsor) about the plans, and she in turn tells her boyfriend (Vince Edwards), the seeds are sown for the whole operation's undoing. In 'Killer's Kiss' (1955), boxer Davy Gordon (Jamie Smith) finds himself in a world of trouble when he intervenes and saves dancer Gloria Price (Irene Kane) from her seedy and violent boss Vincent Raphello (Frank Silvera). Davy and Gloria fall in love and plan to leave the city and make a fresh start, but Vincent is angry and jealous and sends his men to kill the young lovers...<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>

The film, which is in turn based on the novelisation of the incident by Humphrey Cobb, stars Kirk Douglas as Colonel Dax, the leader of a group of soldiers who have already endured a great deal of horror in the trenches of France. When the vain and ambitious General Mireau (George Macready) orders Dax and his men to attack a well-fortified German position known as the Anthill, Dax informs him that the task is virtually impossible and will result in many deaths. Desperate for promotion, Mireau insists that the attack proceeds and is outraged when the second wave of soldiers refuse to enter the battle after witnessing the slaughter of their comrades. When Mireau and his acolytes select three soldiers for court-martial as scapegoats for the rebellion, Dax - a lawyer during his civilian life - elects to defend the men from the charges himself.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>
