They go on the run, embarking on a series of violent bank robberies, but it is not long before the police are on their trail.<br/><br/>With Bowie's past catching up to him and, having fallen for Keechie (Shelley Duvall), the daughter of a garage owner, Bowie must decide whether to start a new life free of crime or continue down a destructive path with only one way out.
