Paret Anansa (Beverly Johnson) och David Linderby (Michael Caine) är båda läkare som arbetar i Västafrika för Världshälsoorganisationen. En natt den vackra Anansa bortförd av slavhandlare. David Linderby rör sig genom både djungel och öken, i hopp om att hitta sin fru.
