Since the introduction of the video camera and the production of moving images, love and courtship have been key topics for film-makers showcasing their work on the screen. This feature uses archive footage from the British Film Institute to document how the theme of love was displayed throughout the ever-changing twentieth century as it witnessed the break-out of war and the birth of youth culture.
