Mercedes (Maribel Verdú), the Captain's considerate servant, and Dr. Ferreiro the Captain's physician, are, it transpires, in league with the revolutionaries in the woods surrounding the army encampment. These resistance fighters are intent on liberating the rationed food and medicines they need. As the increasingly manic and paranoid captain assassinates anyone who looks at him the wrong way with alarming regularity, Ofelia's secret quests set by the fawn creature to unlock the portal to another world become more and more urgent. With its deft mixing of CGI and actual character scenes, political and social statement, Pan's Labyrinth has been referred to already as 'The Citizen Kane of fantasy films'.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

Guillermo del Toro's director's cut of the 1990s sci-fi horror starring Mira Sorvino, Jeremy Northam and Josh Brolin. Three years after creating the Judas breed - a new species of insect - in order to wipe out plague-carrying cockroaches, Dr Susan Tyler (Sorvino) worries that the breed may have evolved. Along with her husband Peter (Northam) and their assistant Josh (Brolin), they travel the subways looking for Judas specimens.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, eight-year-old Chuy (Alexander Goodwin) disappears after investigating shadowy figures at the local chapel, and his grandfather Manny (Giancarlo Giannini) sets out to track him down. Both Manny and Susan make a terrible discovery - the Judas insects have developed the ability to take on human form, and are now set to destroy mankind.
