After the death of her grandfather, Alma (Molly Kunz) returns to his cabin on a small island in the Canadian wilderness. She rescues a lion cub from the wreckage of a crashed plane destined for a circus and, wanting it to remain free, takes it home. A female wolf pursued by overzealous scientists also finds refuge with Alma for herself and her pup, and soon Dreamer, the lion cub, and Mozart, the wolf pup, are inseparable.
