Collection of five films from director Alfred Hitchcock. In 'Saboteur' (1942) factory worker Barry Kane (Robert Cummings) finds himself branded an industrial saboteur after a fire breaks out in his workplace. When the extinguisher he handed to his colleague and best friend itself burst into flame, Kane had to go on the run, determined to find the real culprit and so prove his innocence.

The only person who believes his story is Patricia Martin (Priscilla Lane), who aids him in his flight from the authorities. In 'Shadow of a Doubt' (1943) young Charlie Newton (Teresa Wright) longs for something exciting to happen to brighten her dull existence in Santa Rosa with parents Joseph (Henry Travers) and Emma (Patricia Collinge). The arrival of her Uncle Charlie (Joseph Cotten) seems to be just what she needs; urbane, witty and charming, the elder Charlie has announced that he wishes to quit New York to spend time with his family.

Uncle Charlie soon makes himself at home, but his suspicious behaviour begins to unsettle his niece. When police detective Macdonald Carey (Jack Graham) tells Charlie that he believes her uncle to be none other than the Merry Widow murderer, she begins to question whether she really knows Uncle Charlie at all. In 'The Trouble With Harry' (1955), when a dead body is discovered one autumnal day in Vermont, several people try to keep it a secret.

Among them is Captain Albert Wiles (Edmund Gwenn), who mistakenly believes himself to be responsible for the man's death, his widow, Jennifer (Shirley MacLaine), painter Sam Marlowe (John Forsythe) and local spinster Miss Graveley (Mildred Natwick). Their attempts to rid themselves of the troublesome corpse lead to further misunderstandings and several disinterments. In 'Marnie' (1964) kleptomaniac Marnie Edgar (Tippi Hedren), who moves from job to job and has a pathological fear of the colour red, is caught stealing by latest employer, Mark Rutland (Sean Connery).

Instead of turning her over to the police, Mark forces Marnie to marry him, convinced that he can get to the bottom of her psychosis. Finally, in 'Family Plot' (1976) fake medium Blanche (Barbara Harris) and her boyfriend Lumley (Bruce Dern) are attempting to scam the elderly Miss Rainbird (Cathleen Nesbitt) by discovering the long-lost heir to her family fortune. Meanwhile, sinister jeweller Arthur Adamson (William Devane) plots a kidnapping scheme with his girlfriend, Fran (Karen Black).

Although no link is immediately discernible between the activities of the two couples, their paths eventually cross in the most unexpected of ways.

In 'Rope' (1948), flatmates Brandon (John Dall) and Philip (Farley Granger) murder their friend David Kentley (Dick Hogan) purely to see if they can get away with it. They then throw a cocktail party, serving food from the top of the trunk where they have hidden David's body. Their guests include both David's father and fiancée, as well as college lecturer Rupert Cadell (James Stewart), who becomes increasingly suspicious as the evening goes on. In 'The Man Who Knew Too Much' (1956) Dr. Ben McKenna (Stewart) is on holiday in Morocco with his wife, former singer Jo (Doris Day), and son Hank (Christopher Olsen) when he meets the friendly but mysterious Frenchman Louis Bernard (Daniel Gelin). The McKennas are also befriended by the Draytons, an English couple who take them to the local bazaar. There, Ben is confronted by an Arab man who, after being shot in the back, whispers a dying message to him. It transpires that the Arab is in fact a disguised Bernard, and that he has entrusted Hank with the identity of a British politician who is due to be assassinated. After being questioned by the police, Ben and Jo return to their hotel, only to discover that the Draytons have checked out and taken Hank with them in order to ensure Ben's silence. In 'Torn Curtain' (1966), famous nuclear physicist Michael Armstrong (Paul Newman) defects to East Germany with the intention of acquiring a secret formula from enemy scientist Gustav Lindt (Ludwig Donath). However, Armstong's mission is jeopardised when he is followed by his assistant and fiancée Sarah Sherman (Julie Andrews). In 'Topaz' (1969), CIA agent Michael Nordstrom (John Forsythe) learns from a Soviet defector that Russia has become embroiled in the Cuban missile crisis via a NATO spy codenamed Topaz. Enlisting the help of French agent Andre Devereaux (Frederick Stafford), Nordstrom attempts to discover the link, but his actions have disastrous international consequences. Finally, in 'Frenzy' (1972), Barry Foster stars as market trader Robert Rusk, a psychopathic killer who strangles women with ties. However, suspicion falls on the innocent Richard Blaney (Jon Finch) after Rusk kills Blaney's ex-wife Brenda (Barbara Leigh-Hunt) and his current girlfriend Babs (Anna Massey).

Typ: Blu-ray / 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray (Boxset)

In 'Rear Window' (1954), after sustaining series injuries in an accident, photojournalist L.B. 'Jeff' Jeffries (James Stewart) is forced to spend a humid summer recuperating in his Greenwich Village apartment. The wheelchair-bound Jeff spends his time observing his neighbours first through binoculars and later a telephoto lens, bestowing them with nicknames and growing familiar with their daily routines. However, his girlfriend Lisa (Grace Kelly) is alarmed when Jeff becomes obsessed with the notion that Lars Thorwald (Raymond Burr), who lives in the apartment opposite, has murdered his wife. In 'Vertigo' (1958), San Francisco detective John 'Scottie' Ferguson (Stewart) retires after a rooftop chase in which a fellow police officer falls to his death leaves him with a crippling fear of heights and vertigo. He is subsequently hired by Gavin Elster (Tom Helmore) to follow his wife Madeleine (Kim Novak), as Elster says he fears for her life. After Scottie saves her from drowning, the two fall in love, but when his vertigo prevents him from saving her a second time, he fears he is losing his mind when he starts seeing a woman who reminds him of her on the city streets. In 'Psycho' (1960) Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) goes on the run after stealing $40,000 from one of her employer's clients. Taking a wrong turn in a storm, she arrives at the isolated Bates Motel run by the twitchy Norman (Anthony Perkins) who is constantly at the beck and call of his unseen mother. When Marion takes a shower in her room, a sudden knife attack ends her life. Upon discovering her body, Norman attempts to cover up the murder, but it is not long before Marion's sister and boyfriend arrive, attempting to track her down... Finally, in 'The Birds' (1963), spoiled socialite Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) pursues lawyer Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor) to his Bodega Bay home after they meet in a bird shop. Melanie sails across the bay to deliver the gift of a pair of lovebirds to Mitch's young sister, only to be attacked by a gull. Soon violent and unexplained attacks on humans are taking place all over Bodega Bay as birds of all varieties mass in their thousands overhead.

Typ: Blu-ray / 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray (Boxset)
