While on the run, young Martin begins to enjoy the thrilling adventure and so joins the escapee on his mission to evade the authorities and seek the sanctuary of a remote cabin. After frittering the money away Ralph returns to his old job as a car salesman, only to get the boss's daughter pregnant and be forced into marriage.
