2023 är det 10 år sedan Kurt Vile släppte "Wakin on a Pretty Daze" och för att fira denna milstolpe släpps nu en gul dubbelvinyl av plattan i begränsad upplaga. Återutgivningen är det senaste inlägget i Matador Records Revisionist History-serie, hittills har den revisionistiska historieklassen 2023 lyft fram Bettie Serveerts "Palomine", Pavements "Slanted and Enchanted" och Yo La Tengos "I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One".

I en recension av förregående albumet, 2009 års "Childish Prodigy", jämfördes Kurt Vile med Leonard Cohen, Tom Petty, Psychic TV och Animal Collective i samma andetag. Till den listan skulle man kunna lägga till Nick Drake, My Bloody Valentine och Bob Seger. På sitt fjärde album väver Vile ihop alla influenser till luftig, gitarrbaserad popmusik som låter så självklar och tidlös att det är lätt att förstå varför han anses vara en av de mest lovande amerikanska låtskrivarna just nu.
