Where does a body end? is a intimate portrait of SWANS. From their roots as a confrontational post-punk band that emerged in the early 1980s era NYC that gave us Sonic Youth and Madonna, to their odds-defying status as one of the most accomplished and ambitious bands in the world, and one whose concerts are more like ecstatic rituals of sound than trips through their most popular songs.

Swans bow out from the "Big Sound" era with a live document that feels like both farewell and peak statement. Capturing the final concert of this phase, it brings together fifteen years of cosmic sonic expressionism at its most heavenly, debased, visceral and transcendent. Across more than two and a half hours of music, this set includes a wealth of new material never recorded elsewhere, plus a DVD of the performance. It stands proudly alongside Swans' legendary live records, closing this chapter with love and unbridled passion. A fitting goodbye to this stellar line-up: Norman Westberg, Michael Gira, Dana Schechter, Phil Puleo, Pravdica, Larry Mullins and Kristof Hahn.

Swans return with a double CD edition of 'Birthing', the latest album, developed over the course of a yearlong 2023-2024 tour. Refined through relentless improvisation and live performance, as well as newly composed studio pieces, 'Birthing' is a testament to Michael Gira's uncompromising sonic vision. Beginning as skeletal acoustic compositions, the songs were gradually expanded and transformed in the studio with longtime live members and collaborators.

Swans return with Birthing, the latest album, developed over the course of a yearlong 2023-2024 tour. <br/>Birthing is released via Mute and Young God Records. The initial pressings of the deluxe vinyl and CD include a bonus DVD featuring Swans Live 2024 (Rope) The Beggar, a concert film by Marco Porsia documenting the band's most recent US tour. The DVD also includes I Wonder If I'm Singing What You're Thinking Me To Sing, a documentary by Christopher Nicholson following Michael Gira's 2022 solo tour.
