Sparks: Live on the moon 2025 [Digipack / 2 CD]

'Sparks' were originally called 'Halfnelson' from 1968-1972, formed in Los Angeles by brothers Ron and Russell Mael. The album that went by the title 'Halfnelson' in 1970, was basically the first 'Sparks' album. They are noted for Russell Mael's distinctive wide-ranging voice and Ron Mael's intricate and rhythmic keyboard playing style. This album is produced by Todd Rundgren, and engineered by James Lowe, former singer of 60's Psychedelic band 'The Electric Prunes'. This is a striking, original piece of work with many highlights including the minimal single "Wonder Girl", the gorgeous AOR ballad "Slow Boat" and the Russell-penned song "Saccharin And The War."

Following last year's world tour, Sparks were invited to perform a one-off show on the Moon - the first band in history to do so! Includes an introduction and outro from Cate Blanchett, who accompanied the band on their lunar trip. Sparks Live On The Moon comprises a full live set of twenty songs spanning the band's 54 year career, including 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us', 'The Number One Song In Heaven', 'When Do I Get To Sing "My Way"', 'The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte' and songs from their most recent album MAD! Sparks Live On The Moon follows MAD!, their acclaimed 28th studio album which reached #2 in the UK charts last year - their highest chart position to date!
