Finally! Vinylly! The Prison break of our dreams at long last. Freedom is the goal for Rockaway Beach’s very own state of mind jam band. Everybody’s got their point of view and one slamming riff at a time unites all of them: five guys, four vocals, three guitars melded together outrageously in a craft that runs on it’s own rock and roll synergy, and lots of it. Sure, it goes too far! How the hell else you gonna get Upstate?

For their second trip in the studio, terminal Prisoners Sarim Al-Rawi, Matt Lilly and Paul Major reach for the skies in a mega-band featuring their late, lamented cohort, Sam Jayne; guitarists Marc Razo and Adam Reich; bassist Matt Leibowitz; and Dave Smoota Smith on trombone. Super-size Prison is souped-up and psyched-out, a raging ride and a many-headed blast of guitar, bass, drums and singing – instant cohesion! Downstate’s gonna bust you up.

Prison hits the road album, riding two massive jams across altered routes of consciousness a la the allegorical and literal heavy traffic of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway, visible from the windows of the studio in which Big Rigs on the BQE was recorded! The requisite Prison gear, guitars, bass and drums plus synth & FX, coughs out exhaust flavored with Groundhogs/Velvets/Hampton's/Pink Fairies/Magic Band/Good Rats/Can. An improvised rock and roll tapestry, gas 'n guitar pedal on down to the metal.
